Big Sur Camping Trip

Last weekend we went camping at Big Sur.  It is a beautiful stretch of coastal California south of Monterey.  We camped in a site that was surrounded by redwood trees and right next to a river.

The kids had fun.

Iona and Amelia playing with the dirt!

Arran, Amelia and Iona rafting down the river 'rapids'.  This was in the campground.

The campsite backed straight onto Julia Pfeiffer Burns State park so we could just hike from the campsite onto some trails.

Hiking

Found a log in the river - seemed fun to walk down to the end of it.

More log fun.  This time the fun was trying to walk up the log to the very end.
And here, especially for Dunpa, is a photo of the albino Redwood tree.  Its cool in a weird sort of way.  The leaves were a yellow-ish white instead of the usual dark green.  This tree was also in our campsite.

We all had a great time.  The kids did not want to leave.
